Since Storm Amy arrived mid festival in 2025 it was decided that the set of conditions that would result in an automatic cancellation would be agreed.
Bad Weather
In the event that the British Met Office issues an AMBER warning for the Inverness area during the time period immediately before or during any Festival event, it can be assumed that this event will be cancelled. This includes wind, rain and snow warnings. YELLOW warnings are almost any bad day in the Highlands and while horrid, pretty normal for most of us. All Ticket holders will be informed by email as soon as the Amber warning has been issued (within 12 hours) so please monitor your email inbox just before events.
Cancellation or Postponement
In all instances, an event will be first postponed and every effort made to reschedule the event made. In all instances, Ticket holders will be informed by email as soon as possible. If the event cannot be rescheduled in an reasonable time frame, then, with agreement of the author, the event will be carried forward to the following year’s festival. In the instance, that this is also not possible, then the event will be cancelled.
Refunds
In most instances, it is very difficult to return any online donations in the event of a cancellation. Please contact us if this is going to create hardship and we will look at every case individually. We are charged fees for all online transactions which means refunds are problematic. This may mean a handling fee will be applied (rates determined by card companies). However your donation is what helps keep the Festival viable and ensures that it returns next year.
